Hi myrtledene. As comes across on lots of replies on this site, after a heart 'incident' there is always going to be some anxiety and nervousness. I personally think it would be abnormal if you weren't concerned. What you will find is as time goes by these feelings reduce, although may never disappear completely. My nstemi and 2 stents was in July 2019 and I still worry at the odd twinge, but it is no longer the first thing I think of in the morning and the last thing at night. Take your medication, eat well and exercise - and look forward to the rest of your life. Hope this helps and best wishes for your recovery xx

Of course if mental health issues are seriously impacting your life it may be worth speaking to your gp

Hi, its a natural response to such a major event. Don't be concerned I had 2 stents in Aug 20 and still feels anxiety issues. It will be over with time and soon you will be 100% fine

I had one stent in April 2020.

I still have anxious episodes but get by now much better than the early days following HA.

I think time is a great healer and I’m sure you’ll get there because I did and initially I suffered chronic anxiety.

Breathing exercises/ meditation/CBT all helped me immensely to try and get calmness in my body again .

Hope you get on ok .

If you are still constantly worrying and anxious I would speak to your G.P.

Take care x

Hi It will pass !!I am 39 years in August from a Heart Attack and 6 years post Bypass Surgery, with 3 years post stents. I have a 100% blocked Right Coronary Artery and Mild to Moderate and sometimes Severe Heart Failure. Do I worry ? not really I work on the basis should anything go wrong I will be whisked off in an Ambulance to either the Cath lab or Coronary Care Unit be patched up and sent on my way. That is my coping strategy I have been fixed a few times so why not next time. I am not being flippant it is something that works for me, could you imagine spending almost 40 years worrying about tomorrow it doesn't bear thinking about!!!

Hands Face Space Vaccinate to Stay Safe

My Heart Nurse told me there is every chance something else will get you long before your Heart does, and I don't worry about that.

Not what you're looking for?
