I would welcome any advice on how to get through the day without laying on the couch thinking about what I need to get done that day. Feel paralyzed.

It's hard to function when you feel like this. Little jobs, little steps and build up slowly.
MsPop, I feel exactly the same. Had a terrible, awful day yesterday, feeling unwell, low and stayed on the sofa all day. Its so tough struggling to get back to normal. I must have watched pretty much everything on Netflix and catchup - even Midsummer Murders. I joined this community only two days ago and I'm already getting positive messages back that have given me a bit more motivation. This morning I'm going to look for a yoga class on youtube and try to do five minutes. Even if I give up after two minutes, at least it's two minutes I didn't do yesterday. I've also taken to having long lazy baths, reading any book I can get my head into and also started a diary - god help anyone who has to read my boring observations and constant references to BP, heart rate, oxygen levels and temperature! Had my sudden cardiac arrest coming up to three months ago. Can barely walk 500 yards and feeling damn sorry for myself most days by tea time after napping - cant sleep at night of course. So, I'm there with you in the lack of motivation. Kristin has it right though. Need to find small moments that take you out of the loafing style routine to make progress.
Hello, it’s pretty grotty at times, isn’t it. You have my sympathies. On a more constructive note, please don’t be too hard on yourself. You can only do what you can do. Perhaps prioritise things that need doing and things that you want to do into tiny bite size pieces and do one of each, then another and so on resting as and when you need to. And if you can, delegate everything else to others. Ask for help...it’s actually a sign of strength not weakness when we ask for help. Also, let go of what can’t be done, don’t fret about it, save that energy for the things that make you feel better in yourself. It’s much easier to say than to do but will get easier with practise.
Best wishes to you and your loved ones.
Hi, I can relate to your feelings, I had a HA just before Christmas, had a stent fitted and sent home with lots of meds. Felt as though my life had ended and was feeling very low. I am trying to stay positive but it is very difficult with the lock down and bad weather. Try some gentle exercises on youtube via BHF web site, I find that helps to calm myself especially if you can't get outside.Hopefully we will all feel a lot better when spring arrives and the lockdown ends!
Stopping smoking is a major advance. As your sense of smell recovers you will be tempted to nibble, so you might find it useful to get active. As your breathing improves you will be able to breathe better and start to get out walking and enjoy being alive.
Get your bad weather gear out and start moving. Buy an activity tracker and keep track pf your progress. Get out and about and see what is going on and give yourself something to talk about. Volunteer to help out. Enjoy the green stuff and don't let the sofa monster get you.
