Hi I’m recovering for a heart attack October 2020. Utter shock to my system and having a few problems which I’m hoping are due to the medication and nothing more serious . X

Hello Garto1

Welcome to the forum when we have a heart event it feels as if we have had the rug pulled from beneath our feet. 4 years ago I had open heart surgery to replace Aortic valve replaced and bypass couldn’t understand how my body had let me down it never had before. I read your other post and have had something similar.

While I was in hospital they found I was anemic so had colonoscopy found I had some polyps which were biopsied and were fine.

Getting over what as happened to you takes time you have to let your brain catch up with what your body as been through.

Sending you best wishes

Pauline

Thank you just wish they would do the colonoscopy to get it over with and then I may be able to move on. Thanks again x

Will be thinking of you.

A school friend's mother had a heart attack over 40 years ago. At the same time she was diagnosed with Type II diabetes. Despite being at the lower end of the normal BMI range she has always remained diabetic. However for someone in their mid-nineties she is doing well and looking forward to resume her regular visits to NT tearooms! So you should be fine - just follow the lifestyle guidelines and take the meds.

Hi, I had CA 2 years ago and it takes time for your body and mind to come to terms with what you've been through. Exercise helps with the body but the mind takes longer. You need to look at the positives rather than the negatives ( easier said than done) but you have to accept that you are one of the lucky ones and have another chance, so take it and enjoy your lifeGood luck and stay safe

Don't forget that there are many others going through the same as you. You don't have to do it in isolation. Unfortunately there is no magic solution but there is a lot of hard work, good luck
