It has just recently been approved for people with HFrEF though they have to meet certain criteria. I believe its currently being trialled for HGpEF as there is currently very little out there for this type of HF, hopefully it'll help with this as well . Great news for all those with HF.
Hi , busy day ahead today but this link will give you full info, etc
I ended up very poorly in ITU on this drug, and I’m glad to notice it’s recognised in the guidelines that it can cause ketoacidosis
However, in the DAPA-HF trial, more people on dapagliflozin had diabetic ketoacidosis and volume depletion, and fewer people had acute kidney injury.
My cardiologist is very keen on using this and used slightly raised sugar levels as his excuse to prescribe it. I am normally very prone to side effects from drugs but so far, four months on, have been fine on dapaglifozin.
Justb readv your post. it's just been prescribed for me in addition the rest, so just wondered how it was going re side effects and have you noicited any improvemet in heart function as a result
Happy to report no side effects. Haven't noticed any change in heart function, won't be having an echocardiogram until later this year, which will be approx. 18 months after the last one.
Thanks for update. Just about to start on it Already on usual cocktail of 4 drugs ex aspirin. Just hoping to avoid thrush and the more worrying but uncommon side effects. Will see what it dies to ef rate in due course. Maybe swap ramipril for entresto if can tolerate dapag...
I think it’s ok on the 10mg dose it’s the 25mg dose that’s the one to monitor more carefully
Interesting - I completely missed this story, so thanks for highlighting here. Is there any info on how this compares to Entresto?
