Thanks for that Gil I’m the same Iv shielded since March really but didn’t think of the at risk register at all. It will be interesting to see if my GP has update this.
At times there seem to be inconsistencies in the shielding list. Although I have had Type I diabetes since childhood, a quadruple bypass in 2018 and a BKA (below knee amputation) last summer I am not on the list. Apparently if I fall pregnant I would be! Being male and over 60 my story would probably make me a millionaire! 🤣
All we can do is stay as safe as possible!
P.S. I hope second stent cures any associated symptoms you may have.
Hi MichaelJH, my ignorance in health matter I suppose is down to a bury your head in the sand attitude. That is until it hits you in the face like a wet fish. I read your comments with interest and confusion as to how they make decisions.
Iv defiantly adopted the look duck a as nd dive attitude since my little bumps in life’s road and have been keeping safe since March really I agree that’s all we can do. Hearing others stories is a definite eye opener to me and I thank you for sharping.
I’m sure my next visit to the hospital will be a lot smoother than my last .
You take care now and as we would say in my area Coorie doon and wait till it’s safe 😊👍🏼
Hi I think anyone is vulnerable who has an underlying condition but I think a letter will be sent to those who need to shield
I've had 5 stents, have ongoing issues and other underlying conditions which affect my immune system and have never been asked to shield. It's a lottery from my experience.
My hubby has T2 diabetes, has had a quadruple bypass and a stroke in 2018. He wasn’t on the shielding list last time. So I doubt if things will change this time.
Hi back in march with arythmogenic cardiomyopathy and severe heart failure I wasn't asked to shield, I got a transplant in July and I have heard nothing, my partner works in a factory which she has not closed, we are worried, I am also in Scotland, I have no idea what the shielding criteria is, char
My fiancé had his x3 bypass in late Jan 2020 was approx 7 weeks post surgery when the first lockdown happened, he had AFib, COPD, asthma and type 2 diabetes but wasn’t on the shielding list the first time round.
This time I believe he will be on the clinically vulnerable list, the thing I find slightly odd is that I am also on the clinically vulnerable list but I “only” have fairly mild asthma compared to his long list of medical conditions. The clinically vulnerable list seems to cover a very wide range of extremes to me (just my opinion!)
