Cold turkey

Hi, I was prescribed propranolol by my doctor for slight jitteriness. I was also given a holster monitor (heart monitor) the results took forever. So doctor insisted I try propranolol. As someone that suffers anxiety I was hesitant and waited a week. Then decided to blindly give it a try. I was prescribed 60 mg ER once a day. After day 4 I started feeling shortness of breath so I called my doctor and he said to stop taking them. So I did...and now have experienced high blood pressure and no hunger. When I eat I actually feel shaky and l feel like my heart is racing but my heart rate is about 72. My blood pressure has gone down now ( 125/88)I still have palpitations and have noticed that now my heart rate is mid 60’s is this dangerous? I feel a overwhelming sensation most likely anxiety but can anyone provide feed back? That this will eventually go away? Or might all this be damaging my heart? Any advise would be appreciated

Hi there, probably best to talk to your Dr! but it might help you to feel less worried to know that when I was on propanalol my heart rate dropped to very low 40's & when I was taken off it I had to wean off really slow as I had numerous withdrawal symptoms. But now they've changed my meds I'm ok - so light at the end of the tunnel hopefully for you too. good luck
