Been to yhe hospital yesterday after persistent pain in shoulder, down arm and across chest. Short of breath at times and feeling generally awful. I have had problems with my shoulder since my surgery 2 years ago (AVR), normally a day of painkillers and stretching relieves it but not this time. Everything was fine, bloods ecg etc. And sent home still not great but confident now its not my heart.
Anyone on here suffer from anything similar? If so what remedies do you suggest?

Hello mate. Sorry to hear of your difficulties. I was going to suggest Yoga and/or Tai Chi, with the Yoga try to find a class that focuses on you and your level working at your pace (alternatively do TV/internet classes and you can press pause!) it’s not a silver bullet and you are already doing stretching, doing it regularly will be the key. Hope that offers some additional relief... I am struggling with similar pain at moment but only weeks after bypass surgery so hopeful will resolve with time and exercise. PS - Deep tissue massage might be another one to explore but talk to your Doc first, and will be difficult at moment with lockdowns. Good luck.
Hi Stevo1979, I was diagnosed with musculoskeletal post AVR and to a degree I agree with it however in March this year I got a second opinion as I was fed up with daily pain in chest. This identified via a CT scan that my sturnum had still not repaired, both cardiologist and I were surprised. I was advised to give it more time and not to do any strenuous exercise, easily achieved as shortly after we were all in lockdown and even when we came out I continued by not playing Badminton. So now unfortunately I'm still suffering daily chest pain and I'm not sure musculoskeletal is the issue anymore but do suspect issues with my sturnum, will follow up when possible. So my advice would be to get checked out ECG, echo and CT scan just to be sure it's only musculoskeletal pain as short of breath would be a concern if it was me.
As for remedies for musculoskeletal I do stretches daily, not sure they're helping in my case but got to try something 🤞
