Hi all...i had 5 stents fitted in June and went back to work 6 weeks ago. Ive noticed I'm really tired and also have what i believe are palpitations often during the evening when i relax and during the day feel a little breathless. Im unsure if this is something to be concerned about. Any ideas? Has anybody else had these issues?

All I can say is when I had my one stent done it took months for my chest muscles to heal.... the medication your on will be the main reason... also I still have it a year after the event... your diet will be very important now.... and you’ll need to see a cardiologist to review your tiredness... also a local chemist should be able to look at your doses.. of course after checking with your doctor

Hi, I've also got 5 stents and am trying to work. I've given up 1 job due to fatigue and if honest I'm struggling a bit with the current one. I have ongoing tests (mri scans etc) for damage to my heart.

Be kind to yourself and rest when you need to. That said, also try to keep your fitness levels up and avoid eating rubbish foods.

Personally, I feel like I'm on extra time and I'm just doing what I can whilst I can but it doesn't stop me enjoying life.

It takes a long time to get fitness levels back and don’t underestimate the effects of the drugs that you are on (bisoprolol by any chance?). It’s quite common for employers to all ow a staged return to work so I would talk yo them to see what can be done.

HiI only had one stent fitted about 8 weeks ago, and to begin with I would suddenly just get very fatigued, for no reason. This happened at any time during a day.

I am still a bit tired some days and others I am fine.

I'm lucky I have just retired so doesn't affect my working day.

Hi I had a stent fitted 5 years ago now, but at times I still get fatigued and as you said often for no reason at all. I have had this of and on for 3 years and the GP says it is not angina. On Sunday I was making soup and suddenly I felt very unwell and exhausted, better after 30 minutes, but tiredness lasted another hour and more.

I was amazed how soon after the stent was done I felt much better and able to go walking again. Hope you keep inproving.

Thanks.

I am using excercise cycle and stepper, I do approx 20 to 15 minutes at a time, and cycling about 10 mile a day, and about 1.5 mile on the stepper .Hopefully when weather gets better will go outside walking distances.
