Hi Hoppy, I had two partial knee replacements about ten years ago. Mine had got to the stage that I could hardly walk or do any land based exercise, so I took up swimming. It is the best exercise of all, especially if you suffer from joint problems. However it is best to avoid breaststroke with bad knees, due to the twisting motion of the leg kick. Crawl or backstroke are good. You can also do other exercise in the pool, such as water walking, gentle aquarobics and so on, as 50 % of the weight is taken off your knees. Good luck.
Thank you for reply. Loveswimming.. I've been struggling like you have been, and i been very slowly putting on a few pounds (not much) but enough for me , I never thought of swimming as i just presumed they would be closed due to covid-19,but i will check with my local council.. Thanks again and good luck with your knees to.
Definitely water activity whether it be hydrotherapy (exercises in water) or swimming.
Thanks for the reply TRST.. Thats what 30 years in the building trade does to you. It slowly creeps on you untill you can't carry on. Heart is in good nick.. 👍
