I am having trouble sleeping. Been going on and off since I got home from hospital 6 months ago. Managing to get a couple of hours a night. I just can't seem to not fixate on the valve clicking.
I have the Amazon Alexa playing "sleep sounds" to try an drown out the noise, I've cut out all stimulants and drink herbal tea etc. Just can't seem to break the cycle.
Before I go back to the doctors for a pharmacological solution - has anyone else experienced this? What solutions worked for you?

Apparently poor sleeping is a common outcome of heart surgery - i will shortly be going back on Tamazipan to help me sleep (Zopiclone no longer works). My GP, Pharmacist and Cardio Rehab team all say it can take a while to resolve, while some never have an issue.
The ticking AV will get better I'm told (as the wound and sternum heal fully) - I was supposed to get a metal one but underwent a Davids Procedure at the last minute (my valve was stilll good - it was the Ascendign Aorta that had dilated and was rebuilt preserving my own AV).
