Hi I’m curious to know if my swollen foot could be related to my PCI and stents, is it possible that blood flow to the feet is interrupted in the same way that blood flow to the heart is ? I’m generally very active 10k runs, 20k bike ride and HIIT etc resting heart of 51bpm and great V02 so health wise I’m think I’m in good shape but occasionally I get a bit of redness and swelling on my feet which usually clears after 3-4 days it’s accompanied by some discomfort and very painful to walk

Blood flow in the lower limbs can be affected by a condition called PAD (peripheral arterial disease) which was the cause of my amputation three months ago. Your symptoms sound odd and you really need to contact your GP. A Doppler test might be appropriate.

Thank you Michael, I went to see my GP last night he has diagnosed Gout !! Which surprised me a bit considering my lifestyle and diet, will start the medication today and see how it goes. Thanks again for your input.

Cheers

The old caricature of an overweight, port drinking, rich food guzzling squire doesn't apply apparently. I know a slim, fit, bicycle rider who suffers from it.
