Hi everyone just wondering does everyone think why is it that when Covid wasn’t even known about the infection was high but now months later we wear masks use sanitizing products keep distances but they keep saying the infection rate is higher than previously I am getting confused with all this info and also why do they say isolate for 14 days as soon as u go bk out u could catch it what I am saying we may suffer more mentally than the Covid itself

They are trying desperately to control the infection rate but sadly underestimate the number of idiots in the wider community!
Did you see the Sunday Times at the weekend. Read and weep!

I heard about that report from others which is quite sad no person whatever age should be judged I think everyone should deserve to be saved I know it’s tiring for the nhs but reports such as those will mk people think twice before getting treatment for any illness take care
Before the virus had even been heard of, the hospital decided my dad wasn't worth saving, he was 78 with a brain tumour. They put him on the Liverpool Pathway and managed to kill him in 3 days.
The NHS have been making judgements for many many years. I don't blame them, they have finite resources, they just can't always be right. They do their best.
We are consumed with infection rate.
Surely the rate of mortality is a better indicator?
The vast majority of people infected are asymptomatic. The average age of persons dying of this virus is 82 with one or more illnesses.
We will play hide and seek with this virus and it will still be here.
As for idiots in the wider community maybe sone people are just better informed? Just a thought.
No-one knows what the infection rate is, we only know the number of positive PCR test results. Dominic RaaB said these tests have a 93% false positive rate. It could be higher. The guy who designed the test said unequivocally that they should not be used to determine if someone is infected.
They have ramped up the testing and the number of positives have gone up at virtually the same rate, because the tests are useless.
Hiya, Yasyass All we can do is be scrupulous about hands-face-space, avoid exposure by staying home as much as possible, and finding productive things to do at home to occupy our minds - so far I've worked fifteen 500pc jigsaws at least twice, crocheted more potholders than I can ever possibly need, embroidered more than three dozen table mats and runners, and have caught up on reading books I've been promising myself for years I would read 'one day'. I've completely reorganised my kitchen cupboards, built and stocked a store cupboard, done ALL the laundry (very strange not to have a full basket waiting every morning to go into the washer!), got out all the winter kit including blankets and brushed cotton bedsheets, copied all my favourite recipes to a dedicated three-ring binder...more but I'm now a little embarrassed at what all I've found to do since the pandemic started.
Every time I start to think about the confusion, the contradictions, the worry of catching it, I remind myself I've been doing hands-face-space for months and so far, so good.
Hi Sunnie2day u have been busy I have bought material twice to sew it bought canvas to paint word searches to do but I don’t know why I don’t get to do any of them I love goin out even if it’s to the shops I feel closed in if I stay in hands face space when out we must all try our best but I think what’s meant to be will be I did however realize that more people are testing positive for the virus some suffer some don’t which is the scariest thing for anyone the not knowing take care keep safe
All this whinging about what we can and can’t do is affecting my mental health. Why can’t people just do what they are asked? My daughter is an ICU nurse and tells me there are more patients now than the last time. This time it’s different as there are no nurses now. They have left to find other jobs because of the stress. She worked a shift the other day when they were short of 8 nurses! Please take care and think if those who are taking care of others.
There are many problems with the number of beds in the nhs being run down , along with with the associated trained staff. Other countries actively planned for a pandemic, which we did not.
