Hi first post. I was diagnosed wit AF September 2019. Cardio version worked for 24 hours then back in. Rate controlled eventually with dillitazem highest dose possible. Fine for 6 months then gradually started rate fluctuations and high 120 bpm then very low to about 40 bpm a couple of times a day. Gradually became more erratic and now rate is generally 100 bpm most of the time. Odd drop to 40 and up to 150 but goes very high during exercise. Cycling steadily it goes up to 175 without any effort. I have spoken to GP for a referral but not heard much yet. I have started to get a bit of pain, more discomfort really, do I need to be worried?

Hello. I'm not sure it matters whether anyone else thinks you ought to be worried since you clearly are. You need to press for that referral to your cardiologist. BTW, I am also in AF, I've had 2 failed cardioversions but meds seem to have it moderately well controlled.
Everyone's meds will tend to be different and I was switched from Amiodarone as it didn't suit me to Diltiazem as you're on. I also take Apixaban 2x5mg and Ramipril 1x1.25mg. I've been in AF for 4 years I know about and possibly longer but the current regime suits me quite well apart from occasional breathlessness. But we're all different and what works for me almost certainly won't for you! Good luck.
