Does anyone else have a baby with a vsd?

My daughter has a medium vsd which will probably need surgery in about 2 mo this time and has caught a cold and chesty cough. Has anyone else been through this.

I find Dr's and a and e so trigger happy with antibiotics, she's had them twice and keeps getting thrush because of it.

I'm wondering whether to take her today as she is wheezing, but otherwise happy, alert and pink.

GP saw her in the week and didn't se the need for covid swab, I'm worried about bronchitis but also worried an a and e Dr may not take a measured approach.

Anyone else had the same with a vsd baby?

Just want to do what's best. But my anxiety Is through the roof each time she gets ill now and I don't want it to impair my decision making

Hello carolinefortune

Welcome to the forum.

We all worry as parents about our children which is just so much worse when your baby is effected by a heart problem.

If in doubt I suggest you talk to your GP or ring 111 if you are concerned in anyway about your baby's well bring.

Are you aware of Tiny Tickers and the other support groups specifically for parents with children born with heart problems?

Good luck and do come back and tell us how you get on.
