When you stop Amlodipine how long does it stay in your system. I have read that it can take 12 days is this correct. Pharmacist said it has a half life 3/4 days so confused.

Amlodipine
I was on Amlodipine for a period. When it was stopped the only thing I noticed was the odema it had caused started really going down after a couple of days. I believe its half life to be around 50 hours.
May I ask why you seem concerned about how long the last traces remain in your system?
The half life usually varies considerably between individuals, and increases in old age. Some drugs have a narrow range of action, so as soon as you stop taking them you lose the effect. The usual rule of thumb though I think is 3-5 half lives. Fortunately, in your question I do not have to guess.
