trials for microvascular angina
Hi Yellow Button
The PRIZE trial was suspended due to the Covid crisis but is about to start up again soon.
I suggest you ask your GP to contact the Principal Investigator of the trial Prof Colin Berry.
The contact details and sites taking part can be found in this link.
Your GP can also refer you to a Cardiologist at one of the trial sites.

Thank you Milk Fairy, I am not sure if I am up for a trial but G.P. thinks it is a good idea although according to this site there is a few medications that have not been offered to me.
I would suggest that you ask your GP to refer you to a Cardiologist with some experience treating Microvascular angina .
As you are in Scotland ask your GP to refer you to the trial centre in Glasgow where there are some Cardiologists very experienced in treating patients with MVA.
It can be very difficult to get out of area referrals in Scotland. We don’t have the right to a second opinion or referral to the Consultant or hospital of our choosing.
In England the NHS Constitution gives patients more rights to choose.
Healthcare is a devolved responsibility to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
I don't feel I even want to go there as they say on the forum on this subject😬😳
Hiya! I'm also in Scotland (NE, up the glens). My GP and cardiologist both are happy to refer me if I ask. For example, my cardiologist wants me to go to Glasgow but as the queue is miles long and I'm doing rather well on the current meds regime, there is no rush.
I think it may depend on the trust and the medic - the first surgery I registered with when I retired home in 2010 was not so amenable. I moved house and surgeries and the difference has been life-changing in a very good way.
