Recently I posted a question about Acid reflux with Amlodipine Thankyou for the replies I received but I was just wondering if anyone suffers with Silent Reflux as this is what I have I saw a post which was done a month ago. If there is someone on ppi meds that suffer with silent would appreciate your thoughts on them. Do they help. Or not I myself have to be reassured about them before I ask GP

Acid reflux
I used to wake up most nights choking on the content of my stomach, I take a PPI I started taking then this year, all they do is reduce the acid, not stop the reflux. I stopped the reflux by giving up alcohol and not eating at least 3 hours before I go to bed. Be careful and get help with this, I have multiple ulcers in my oesophagus due to the reflux.
I was told in Hospital that as I was on heart pills, i needed to take care with anti acids as they line the stomach and can reduce absorption., making pills less effective.
They we’re OK with Gaviscon, though on scanning your link, I think it said this Advanced version has 10 times the stomach lining effect.
If I was you I’d get advice before trying them.
I did a lot of research on LPR and the only effective treatment is Gaviscon advance. I have used this since 2014 in the beginning I used during the day then went on to just at bedtime. My diet has slipped just lately and with these Amlodipine I think I am going back on using in the day for awhile. I wouldn’t be without it.
I was told to take my esomeprazole every day as my meds we’re disagreeing with me. I must say They work. I only took them before if I felt really bad and the Gaviscon wasn’t working.
