All ready now!

I’m at Wythenshawe this afternoon and my Op is tomorrow. Had a phone call this morning telling me I have a change of Surgeon and as well as my AVR, I’m having a double bypass. In for a penny, in for a pound eh? I won’t know anything about it-until I wake up! Thanks for all your good wishes and hope you’re all ok. God bless 🙏

Best wishes - ten weeks on from a valve and graft section of aorta and it was so worth it. Feel better today than I have for a couple of years. But please remember recovery is slow and it is hard not to get impatient. Take it very easy when you get home.

Will be thinking of you, everything will be ok, you will be back home before you know it, and then you will be on the mended heart road.

Good luck and very best wishes Pauline

Once you get into the admission phase the sheer professionalism will help relax you. I enjoyed a coffee and a small piece of cake before I went in but now options are lmited! Glad I did though as ward tea and coffee was warm and wet, and memorable for the wrong reasons! Before it you will wake in ICU.

Good luck!

I am at home recovering from a quadruple bypass at the mri , they have this off to a tee , although I was a bit scared like you I thought well I will not feel anything, they manage all the post op pain very well and wythenshaw has an excellent record , don’t worry you will be fine . Allan 👍

Thanks mate. I’m feeling strangely calm.

Yes funny enough so was I , although it is a major op and they scare the life out of you with what could go wrong, they do so many and the teams are so well trained that it’s become quite routine in some ways , they monitor you very well after the op and control the pain very well, although everyone is different I was at home after 5 days of the op

And like I said wythenshaw has a truly excellent track record

Take care and hopefully we can catch up post your op 👍 Allan

Good luck, the staff just do it routinely so leave everything to them! My husband had a triple and did great - you will too.

No problem Allan. Thanks for your support mate. Alan

If you feel up to it try and keep mobile, do what the physio tells you because they won’t let you home unless you pass the physio test , which isn’t difficult to be honest , tomorrow will be a month since my operation and I am doing ok but have had to come to terms with not rushing things , I have definitely noticed my progress from when I first came home but it’s gradual, I tried to do to much to soon so don’t do that , daft as it sounds the hard work starts when you get home , but the big job has been done , look after yourself and if I can help with any questions however small just ask

Regards

Allan

Hi, I’m just awaiting my medication and then home at about lunchtime-time. All my stitches have been removed, I’ve still got a bit of breathing restriction on my left-side but I can work on this at home. All good at present thanks. How are things with you? Alan
