Hi, Ive been taking Losartan 50mg for 6 months & 25 mg Atenolol for raised BP.
My legs are really painful & weak , which has been getting worse, now it's hard to walk& stairs are very difficult. Knees hurt too.
Has anyone had these problems, thank you, sue
Hi... Is your underlying health issue purely BP or are there other things going on. Also are you on any other medication?
Hi Michael, no my only problem is raised BP. I take 25 mg atenolol and 10 mg citalopram daily but that's all. No other health issues
Personally I would not expect either medication to cause your symptoms. I suffer from PAD (peripheral arterial disease) which causes similar symptoms bar the knee pain - I also get frequent cramps. In your position (obviously I have the benefit of hindsight) I would ask your GP to check your pulses and preferably carry out a Doppler. I developed PAD seven years before I developed angina.
