Yes but hadn't made the association, just answered another thread on this.

Hi thanks for you reply I started on 2.5mgs last October and have been reducing since beginning of January very slowly didn’t really associate the ear pain when it started several months ago with the Bisoprolol but it has been getting more and more severe and I can’t ever remember suffering with ear pain ever so I am grasping at straws and just wondering if it could be Bisoprolol as I have had horrendous side effects from the beginning.

Hiya, Nanny, I'm genuinely horrified at what you're going through with Bisoprolol!

What dosage have you got down to?

in reply toSunnie2day

Hi Sunnie

I am still only down to 1.4mgs getting there very very slowly. I have contacted the doctor several times with the ear pain and they are at a loss as to what is causing it as I am. Today side of my face has gone numb so doctor is a bit concerned and I have got to go and see her this afternoon even though we are in lock down.

Morning Nanny, I just have a runny nose.

in reply toRosei

Yes I have a runny nose as well but when I think back the ear pain started around the time of commencing Bisoprolol so I suppose I am grasping at straws thinking it is a side affect as I have had so many with this drug.

Hello nanny, I don't know what kind of ear pain are you experiencing, however I have been taking bisoprolol for over than 5 years and I don't know if my condition got worse, because I am now starting to feel my heart beat on my ear when i move abruptly and in general when i do sudden movements

I'm getting that too. I hear my pulse in my right ear. Very weird.

The ear pain has got worse and worse over the 7 months I have been taking Bisoprolol. I also heard my heart beat very load in my ear but as I am reducing the heart beat sound in my ear is not so strong. I have had nothing but serious side effects from this drug since starting it. Even ended up in hospital with what everyone thought was a stroke on New Year’s Day but once again only a side effect. Withdrawal is an absolute nightmare and I shall rejoice inSeptember\October when I hope I am finally off this drug and hope the rebound effects are not too severe. It will have taken Over a year of me leading a normal life and becoming a virtual recluse over the side and withdrawal effects.

I‘m also starting to experience horrible side effect and in month 8-9 now. The ear pulsating, pressure in my jaw, terrible calf aches, muscle twitching and fatigue. My toes are numb and purple/white... also have swollen ankles (mildly). I thought I was losing my mind & don’t want to go back to the cardiologist sounding like a hypochondriac 😭 what else did you experience??

in reply toDancing_Heart

Hi DancingHeart

I really sympathise with you I have all of your symptoms and more. I am now down to .55mg and for the last 4 days have been having excessive palpitations with my gear missing about 15 beats every minute which is very wearing. I am also waking at 4 or 5 in the morning with extreme anxiety and bodily jitters which last until about an hour after I have taken my next dose of bisoprolol and then start again about 3 hours later. You are definitely not a hypochondriac the withdrawal symptoms seems to alter ever few drops in bisoprolol. I keep trying to tell myself that in another few months I will start to feel normal again but it is very hard and I have a lot of dark days. I also have body twitching, one purple toe now and a bit of numbness and also as I am reducing my pulse rate is shooting up and down like a yo yo although it has not gone above 115. These are all symptoms that I have read in other people that have reduced and stopped bisoprolol so I feel reassured that I will eventually get back to near normal.

I hope this info make you fee easier that you are not alone and if ever you want to chat I will be here

Good Luck

Been on bisoprolol for 2 years now, just coming off since January, had pulsating tinnitus since starting it and can hear my heartbeat when laying down, from what I've read of others experiences and my own it's common, even though my gp rubbishes it, it's a horrible drug and can't wait to be free from it soon.
