Hello! I was wondering if you had a specific question? Prada47 gave you quite a bit of information the other day. There is also a lot of information on the BHF and BHS websites.

Or why not tell us your story?

Are you posting via mobile to explain why your posts (three so far) are so lacking in detail? It would be SO helpful to us to help you if you could please be more specific - perhaps something along the lines of 'I have heart failure and need to read other people's stories'.

More info, please, on what exactly you're looking for here.

Hi

I agree I have not provided any details. I am afraid that I am very slow on keyboard and takes me ages to write long emails. I am 69 years old and had my first heart attack whilst on holiday in Greece in 1985 but recovered from that very well. I have been very fit and well for 34 years but in October last year, I started getting chest pains and had exercise test and echo. My e f was 35 to 40%. I had angiogram and angioplasty and it was found that my left and right artery were 100% blocked. The only remaining artery was 75% blocked which was cleared and 2 stents put in. In January this year I had another heart attack which resulted in heart failure. I am on lot of medication including Entresto.

I am very nervous and anxious and feel I have a death sentence.

Thank you

Thank-you so much for replying - blimey, you've been through the wars, haven't you just!

I have multiple heart conditions but no heart failure (yet, it could still happen - one of my conditions is Rheumatic Heart Syndrome with a scarred aortic valve) but from reading posts from those with heart failure diagnosis, it's not the death sentence people our age (I'm 63) have been led to believe.

There are several active members here with heart failure who live active lives and some who've brought their EF to better levels, and at least two members here who are also on Entresto with good results. I read their posts (I follow several of them just to read what they post about heart failure) and am inspired by their success at managing their conditions.

Re the typing out a long message - I use a word doc, make all my edits (well, most, lol, predictive text slips through no matter what I do!) and then copy and paste into the comment box. One of the effects of the Bisoprolol (beta blocker) is what I call 'Bisoprolol Brain' - serious brain fog in the morning and later in the evening when I'm tired - using the word doc really helps!

Please allow me to properly welcome you to the forum. We call ourselves Hearties (I am a Lady Heartie:) ) Thank-you again for your reply, it explains a lot. I know the HF Hearties will be along soon with tonnes of great tips and reassurances you are not alone, and you have a better prognosis for a long full life than your heart failure diagnosis might have you think.

Have you had a look at this BHF downloadable free publication:

All the best to you, please keep posting and reading here, I can almost guarantee you will find it a tremendous help!

Thank you so much for the information you have given. I have no symptoms at rest but when I go out walking, I get some chest tightness.

Are there many people who have lived long and full life with heart failure; it would be great to read their stories.

Thank you once again.
