Hi all, I've not been on here for a while. For those who know me, I was living in Malta where I had 3 stents put in last July. Now happily back in the UK, and was up till March awaiting to see a specialist at the John Radcliffe in Oxford, my appointment was to determine whether I had micro vascular angina. Sadly this was cancelled on the eve of my appointment due of course down to the Corona virus, so I continue to suffer daily with extreme breathlessness upon any physical exertion. Like many, I am a shielded patient and live alone. I'm also an insulin dependent diabetic.
Amongst all the usual medication us Hearties take, I take Perindopril 4mgs daily. A couple of weeks ago I ran out of perindopril, and was without it for 6 days. During this time I noticed that I was hardly breathlessness at all, yet when I restarted the perindopril the breathlessness returned. In my opinion I believe my perindopril dosage is too high.
I spoke with my GP, who told me to take my BP and resting pulse twice daily for 7 days and report back to her. I've been doing this for 4 days now and have near enough consistent readings of 90/50. Which suggests low blood pressure to me.
I have not yet contacted her with these readings as it's not 7 days yet - but I detect a pattern . . . Has anyone else out there ever experienced a similar situation or have an issue with perindopril? I'd love to know.
Thank you and stay safe and well 🌹
