Possible vaccine trial

Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge/ or been asked to participate in a vaccine trial for covid. I would 100% consider it

Agreed, chronologically yes. However, down the line it would be us lot. And at the rate things are moving on this it could be fairly quickly.

They are running trials in Bristol starting Thurs and one of the doctors has just been on local news talking about it, there is a website where you can apply BUT they only use healthy people.

You always have your finger on the pulse. 😊

Yes, I think those who volunteer should join the ranks of the public spirited heroes and heroines.

The trials are being led by Imperial College NHS Trust and will be taking place at four different sites, Bristol, Thames Valley, Southampton & London.

They are apparently paying up to £625.00 p.p. but I would not be tempted even for a million! Have you been thinking about it?

I think my initial gut reaction would be to opt in, purely based on its potential. Having said that the way the various strains are mutating I think it could be a shot in the dark at this early stage of vaccine development.

I really don't think they would even consider anybody with a known underlying medical condition at the first stages of testing and people need to remember that taking part in any medical trials voluntarily, nullifies any insurance policies you may hold. I do hope the trials are successful and have every confidence our scientific experts will get there eventually.

You have to be aged 18-55, so I do not qualify.

in reply to S11m

I look young so I’d probably qualify 😏

My son is involved in the Oxford trials and they're going live in to 500 humans tomorrow.

I heard that on the news. Yes we shall wait and pray that it is working out well for all trials. There is no place for being negative now really! If it is really safe and shows no side effects in those trials then we are halfway there. Praying that God makes this progress so that lives can be saved too!!!💜🙏💜❤

Hi Boo_boo1

I would also be a volunteer if they ever look for older (ish) people with chronic Health Issues. I suppose they can work out any interaction with Meds with out injecting people!!!
