Heart Murmur

My 5 year old son has a innocent heart murmur. I am now worried with this corona virus. Can this put him in a high risk? I am reading a lot of reports where oeipk have heart conditions that this virus is affecting them more?

Hi Jennyo.

I’m afraid I don’t know the answer but suspect that he’s not at undue risk. I have a five year old grandson with asthma and worry about him catching it - unlikely though that is.

I suggest you contact your GP to discuss it with them and get some reassurance.

Best wishes

Thank you. I have spoken to my doctor and he seems to think he is not at great risk and my husband with enthasimia is at more risk. X

Hopefully that’s reassured you. As I say, I don’t think he would be at any undue risk just because of the murmur.
