Ablation therapy/ cardiovertion

Interested in peoples views on cardio version & ablation. I have a diagnosis of AF not controlled by medication.

I've had 3 cardioversions. First unsuccessful (expect that may have been due to digoxin as this has been mentioned as contrary to success). Second on Amiodarone worked OK but some AF incidents after a fortnight heart rate stayed down for about5 months then spontaneously up to 140 on one day (as per GP recommendation went through A&E that day but the no real help from Cardiology). Third cardioversion just taking Diliatizem and chelated Magnesium held for about a fortnight but fell back into AF a few weeks after significant stress event. Still in AF but hoping for an ablation if COVID19 space at hospital permits. Seems to be a worse problem for me in January and Feb. , but no real interest from Cardiology on that. Best advice I had was from a retired allergy consultant who suggested trying a very low dose beta blocker (1.25mcg) - that has done the trick whilst I wait for any other intervention. Some days in NSR and almost no high heart rate or palpitations. Higher dosage bisopropol at the outset of the diagnosis left me in pieces, couldn't string 2 thoughts together or walk at a reasonable pace.
