Has anyone received the personal letter informing them of their susceptibility to contracting Covid 19 due to their state of health? Not the email or letter sent to everyone. My husband is recovering from a heart attack and is still under the care of his consultant, due for first check up in 2 weeks. He is very concerned about our self isolating and we are very strict with ourselves about it but I am wondering if I can go to the shop, sensibly of course, or should I not,? I've been told these letters come from your GP and their service is erratic to say the least so not much confidence. Advice please.

At Risk Letters
Yes, About a week age, we had a Consultant letter, confirming extremely vulnerable status, and guidance to stay home for 12 weeks etc. This was . not for me, and heart problems, but my husband who is on immunosuppressants. There is one of the very strict criteria, for this.
But I believe they are now writing out to people categorised vulnerable.
Others will, I’m sure, give us more accurate inf, about the latter.
I got a text, followed by a letter, then a second letter.
If you haven’t got one you can request your GP put your husband on the list.
If at all possible I think it would be wise if you did not go out shopping. Online shopping slots are difficult if not impossible to get hold of at the moment so this is not as easy as it sounds. Do you have any neighbours or family who could shop for you and leave it on the doorstep?
If not, try giving your local authority a ring.
Thank you for your concern. I had breast cancer but its 4 years since I was cleared and not on any medication. I think I'm fit as a fiddle but my husband is really anxious I don't go out either. Our son is very good but I'm more concerned about him traipsing about when he has asthma. We've run short of veg but nothing we can't live without. I hate to put others in jeopardy. Stay safe.
I feel pretty much the same. A neighbour of ours knocked on the door when this first started and gave us a card with her phone number on it in case we needed anything. I haven’t asked though. I would never forgive myself if she got I’ll just because I was short of milk. Anyway, I’m gradually acquiring a taste for black tea!
I got my letter because of asthma, so you are right about your son need to be very careful. I think the concern is, that with it being a respiratory virus it could trigger an asthma flare up in an already compromised respiratory system.
However, not to worry. We are safe in our own homes.
I've not had milk in tea or coffee for years and I used to have loads. Try making very weak tea at first. Cool with cold water. You will love it. I can't stand milk in my drinks now it seems to leave a film on my teeth. It also makes having a cuppa easy anywhere in the world not having to worry about milk, I still have it on cereal though. Stay safe.
Our GP surgery sent out a few too many texts on 'At risk' status to healthy and poorly patients. As I have no underlying heart structure issues just AF i'm keeping visits out to the food shops once a fortnight which makes our household the only fit one out of 6 on our lane. Just keep interactions as minimal as possible
