Racing Heart

I woke up this morning and my heart was racing. I checked it with app on phone and it was doing about 143. Tried to do some deep breathing. Then splashed face with cold water. Still stayed very high. I have a pulse oximetre - tried it and only said 53. Tried it on other hand and it was 133. Weird? Tried again on other hand and again it was low on one and high on the other. Did this on my hubby and his both hands were same. Has anyone else had this? Or knows why it would happen? My fast heart rate slowed after 2 hours.

Thanks Happy Jo - it did make me feel quite bad for few hours after but feeling ok now. I have heart racing quite a bit but it usually lasts only a few mins. I have had 24 hour monitors several times but they have only caught one lot of supertachicardia on it and they just said double my beta blocker. Trouble is when I do that - my heart rate goes to about 39 and I get chest pains. Thanks for explaining.
