Hi all. Sorry if this is a silly question but I can’t seem to find a clear answer on the PHE, NHS and BHF websites... I called my GP and they were not sure either, told me to contact my employer and when I contacted my manager she told me to check the PHE website for clarification.
The PHE guidance for vulnerable adults and Covid19 includes people with “chronic heart conditions such as heart failure”. However chronic heart conditions include a variety of conditions.... I have a mild mitral valve prolapse with mild regurgitation, not medicated just advised to monitor it. I’m 29yrs and I work clinical for the NHS. I have absolutely no idea if this heart condition puts me at high risk with coronavirus. The BHF website mentions as vulnerable adults people with Heart Valve conditions that are severe or v. symptomatic and Congenital heart diseases in combination with other severe conditions. It does say though that the virus is new and they don’t know if people with other heart conditions are also at high risk.
My question is has anyone else with mild valve regurgitation/prolapse spoken with their work or GP about this and has more info? This has given me so much anxiety because I work clinical... I started having palpitations the last 3 days which I only occasionally get. :/ My GP and manager as seen above were quite unhelpful... Thanks in advance
