Not sure what to do

I have complete congental heart block, long qt, high blood pressure, heart murmur and elements of ptsd. My fiance doesn't stay with me, he works at a small train station.which is very quiet now with these new guidelines coming into place. We are on 3 weeks lockdown as you all know, does this mean my partner should or can't come to be with me.

Hi there I just saw your post.

If you live on your own it is better to keep it that way until further notice and keep in touch with loved ones by phone, social media etc. - and keep to social distancing.

If 2 people (or more) live in the same house you also need to follow the social distancing advice.

We are updating the BHF website every day with all the latest guidance.

Wishing you all the best and do call the Heart Helpline should you wish to chat to a cardiac nurse.

Welcome to the long QT club. How long is your cQT and what medications are you on for your conditions? Mine is 477ms.

I'm on no medication for my long qt or heart block. Guess I'm lucky to be managing for now. I've asked many a time why I've not been put on anything as I read on here that folk have. Thanks for the reply hope your keeping well

So you have the mutated gene that causes the LQTS while I have the medication induced one.

If your heart rate is not too low (60 -) then a beta blocker would shorten the QT interval.

If your heart block is mild then you can live with it under observation. If not mild then the cardiologist may suggest a PM that will sort out both problems.

I would suggest you download the app from playstore called CredibleMeds. It will show you which medication you take in future will increase the QTc.

My long qt was medication induced as I was on an anti depressant tablet and it caused it but not on meds for it. I've a pace maker a dual chamber one fitted since 2014. Just strange how others seem.to have lots of support I seem to be left to get on lol.
