Most of you will be aware that all the BHF shops closed last week. This was because initially there was concern about the volunteers and shoppers as many are heart patients with the majority also being older. Since then we have been asked to avoid unnecessary travel and to socially distance or isolate. In addition many fund raising events, like the London Marathon, have been cancelled.
All this means there will be a significant shortfall in income used to fund research, etc. Obviously some people will be facing a shortfall in income as a result of being laid off or reduced hours. Others though still working from home or otherwise will be saving money by using less petrol, not buying Costa Coffee, visiting the pub, etc. If you are now saving money can I ask you to donote to the BHF what you feel you can afford. Obviously there are other charities suffering equally so there is no need to feel guilty about splitting money between charities.
Thank you...
