Hello and welcome to the forum! CPVT (Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia) is a condition characterized by an abnormal heart rhythm (arrhythmia). Stress, physical or otherwise, can trigger an abnormally fast heart rate. Infection is a potential trigger and I would anticipate this puts you in the"vulnerable" category. I would suggest you ring the BHF nurses to confirm this. The Heart Helpline is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. The number to call is 0300 330 3311.

I am glad to hear that your employer is taking your welfare seriously as many are not!

Hi, my doctor stated I am at high risk. I have CPVT and have an ICD fitted. But I have just found these videos that advise otherwise.

Thank you , what has your work said to you ? Are you meant to be isolating for 12 weeks ?

Many thanks

My doctor has done me two letters to say I'm high risk and should be supported to stay at home and work from home if possible. I work in a call centre and have had 2 weeks off, work are now forcing ppl like myself who are on the first list to go back to work because they are refusing to pay anything after 2 weeks u only get pay if u get the government letter . I also have asthma and 3 children at home with cpvt. The videos state CPVT doesn't put us more at risk but they are unsure how the infection would affect the arrhythmias. I'm not sure what to do, I feel guilty been off. My mum works at the same place she also have CPVT but also heart failure and fibromyalgia. She hasn't had a government letter. She spoke to her doctor and they said she isnt high risk doesn't warrant a government letter so can go bk to work. She has stood her ground and not gone back, I'm worried if I do go back she will also and she is more at risk with heart failure. Sorry long reply.

My daughter is in the exact same position as she works in a call centre also , as you say it is the risk of infection that is worrying. It’s a ridiculous position to be put in, I know there are obviously people with higher risk but it puts you in an awful position. It’s scary and you shouldn’t be put in a situation where you are forced to make the choice because realistically they actually don’t really know fully how you can be affected .

Take care and keep in touch

Hi I can't seem to find your reply but have it on email. As of today I have been told by the union we are entitled to no pay as we don't come under the government 1.5 million. Work have said that they have social distancing in place so I can go bk but they aren't going to force me, it's my choice but I get no pay while off. Ty for your reply. Take care

Good morning 🌞

How's things with you? Did you go back to work? How are your family ? Hope they are all well. I might be called back to work soon. I'm a bit worried as there will be no social distancing as I work with children 2/3 year olds.. 😟Take care & keep safe 🌈😊

Morning, I am currently working from home until possibly October, I have only been out shopping and that's it. My family are fine all still off school/ collage. Oh that is going to be so hard for you, have you raised your concerns with your employer? I hope you manage to sort something even if you can wear ppe just to be extra safe. It's very scary at the minute how the world is rushing to go bk to normal. I haven't watched any news in months but see things on facebook (not sure if they are true or not) but I did see something about the government saying we could get a second spike in winter yet they are on about scrapping 2 meter rule full by September. Stay safe and please keep me updated on how you go on at work x
