There are no straight answers regarding life expectancy.I don't have heart failure but many others on here do and will be along shortly to give their experiences.Perhaps you could share more about your illness and how it is affecting you at the moment.
I was diagnosed with HF 8 years ago. It`s slowed me down a little and even though I also have lung disease I lead an active life and do not worry about life expectancy as I really think if I follow medical advice my illnesses shouldn`t affect my longevity. There are plenty on here who have regained their former fitness and lead a long and active life so please don`t worry overly and focus on doing the best you can under the circumstances.I know it sounds scary but believe me it`s not too bad.
PS I was fitted with a pacemaker 8 years ago and it does a brilliant job.I even have a T shirt which says"I Love My Pacemaker" so if you have to have one fitted it`s the simplest op.Best Wishes and try to stop worrying x
There is no straight answer, medical advances move very fast. I go to a group and in 3 years we are all still there No One has died.
The variable factors are so great with Heart Failure that's why it is impossible to forecast.
