COVID 19 - PULMONARY VULNERABILITY AFTER RECENT HEART VALVE SURGERY

My partner is now , thankfully ,on the way to recovery from NHS open heart , valve surgery in November 2019 .

Unfortunately, during hospitalised recovery ,she became critically ill with acquired pneumonia and suspected bacterial endocarditis (related to the surgically placed mitral and aortic valves)

This needed four weeks treatment with I v antibiotics .

My partner was strong enough to fight off the infections and was discharged on Christmas eve

She is 69 and lives with me age 67 .

I still suspect she is vulnerable to pneumonia so how certain can we be in anticipating that my partner will get NHS intensive respiratory care if she suffers , critically ,with a Covid 19 lung infection .
