after having a life threatening stroke caused by an angiogram last September, I was then diagnosed with A Fib, now I am on Apixaban, I don't feel too good on them, I feel "muggy" I hope someone understands that phrase, and just not right, My GP says to persevere as she doesn't want to put me on Warfarin, I have improved greatly from the stroke ,but walking/talking are not so good, good days and bad.I just wondered if any one feels this way on Apixaban

anyone on apixaban
Hi been on Apixaban for about 3 yrs due to A F I think you’ll find it’ll get better just give it a little more time good luck
I've been on Apixaban for several months, did feel a bit squiffy for a few days but fine now, the Bisoprolol is the one that makes me feel "muggy" 😕
I agree with Bantam12 I have been on Apix and Bisop for over 3 years post HA. Apix doesn't give me any issues Bisoprolol I could happily through in the river outside the house on a daily basis. It makes me feel so dim and slow as though there is a light off
Hi, I had to have thrombolysis following bi-lateral pulmonary embolisms, at first I was on rivaroxaban, but 6 months later was found to have a mass (??clot) on the back of the left atrium of my heart, so I was changed to Warfrin. Following a number of tests it was found the mass wasn’t a clot ( other health conditions have arisen) so they said I could go back to Rivaroxaban, but I’ve chosen to stay with the Warfrin ( I’ve had a number of clots over time ) It has taken 18 months to get me stable, but I feel more comfortable as with Warfrin your blood clotting is tested regularly. I can go 9 weeks~which is the longest I’ve been left~I don’t have any side effects with it and I’m very confident with it. My Gp was shocked at my choice, but she did support me 100%, plus it’s cheaper to the NHS and there is an antidote to it incase of a serious bleed, where at present there isn’t for the Rivaroxaban. So as long as you don’t mind a thumb prick for a while, to establish your stability then I would recommend Warfrin all the way.
Hope this helps you. Speedy recovery.
