Coronavirus - Some Positive News
It is those first two bullet points that bring home just how far science has come in the 40 years since HIV. Excellent article.
That’s the best thing I’ve read since all this started. Thank you Michael ❤️
Thank you MichaelJH. I agree with Happyme123 this is the most positive Coronavirus thread so far and with stevejb1810 on how we have processed. Far to frequently progress is taken for granted. Increased computing power and the internet allow the scientists to make rapid progress and exchange information. Sadly trolls and idiots prefer to spread panic and misinformation. Some should be de-keyboarded!
Thank you Michael for the article, the first positive thing I have read, as the others have said how far we have come in the scientific world in 40 years.
Thank you for the link. A much more balanced article than all the panic mongering about lack of toilet paper etc
Thank you
My Son came home yesterday and said that's it Mum you are not to go out of the house he will do the shopping and anything else that needs doing .
We had our first case diagnosed where I live yesterday.
I have said I will do all I can to stay safe and be sensible like going shopping early when shops are less busy.
Have to use public transport to get home but wait till a bus is less crowded
Take all the usual hygiene precautions I can .
Will only stay in if advised to
I had HA last year and have suppressed immune system as have PMR and on steroids .
It was sweet on but who knows how long this will go on .
Stay safe
I feel exactly the same way husband had HA last year and i have chronic kidney disease stage 3b and stones, there have been three cases where we are,
I am really scared of going far, I shopped this morning at ASDA when they opened at 7am and was home by 8. Stocked up with necessities for a couple of weeks in the hope I can now stay at home and not go out, fortunately i have a car so dont need to use the bus, I am finding it really hard to understand just how much 'danger' we are in but its really difficult to know the actual risk, my Dad who is 84 years young made the decision to stay at home not going anywhere and has enough food in again for a couple of weeks, my sister will stock him up again by dropping off supplies if he needs them going forward, I am really glad that he has decided to do this, its one less thing to have to worry about although he will get really lonely but we are all ringing him every day and he can use the computer to keep in contact too. This may well be an over reaction but I am beginning to think better safe than sorry! As you said Stay Safe!
No not over reacting but being sensible
We only have one case here I live on a Island
We decided to go to the cinema this afternoon went to the earliest showing and sat at the back .
[
Picked up a few bits on way home from Supermarket was not busy and bus was nearly empty .
It is surprising how many people we noticed not washing hands or taking any precautions.
My Mum is 91 and does not go out unless I take her, she is in a wheelchair she is also waiting to see a Cardiologist to see if thay will replace valves in her heart.
Luckily she only lives in the next street but my Brother who lives next door to her in in and out all day and he is not taking it seriously .
Stay safe
Thanks Michael, a very calming read.
Thank you very much for sharing
Thanks Michael, great to read a news article that actually gives the information without making sensationalist comments. Very reassuring, especially for people like me who have compromised immune systems.

Common sense at long last. Sick of the tabloids scare mongering.
Thanks Michael. xx
Must admit I have been sticking to the Guardian for my news on this have found some very interesting articles being published that are not even mentioned elsewhere
Ethanol, hydrogen peroxide and bleach I thought that was a formula for rocket fuel. Ethanol will be mixed with petrol next year to reduce polution.
