There are so many reasons for increasing blood pressure that there’s no single answer. Yes it could be a sign of having problems in the coronary arteries, but could also be a problem with kidney function, hormone levels, diabetes, or being overweight. Lots of causes.
Interesting.. At 69 I had my valves fixed, No artery problems and blood pressure , fairly consistently about 140/ 80. Now I am 75, recently had a cataract operation and watched my blood pressure zoom up to 221/105, followed by a drop to 182/97 later..
One week after my BP was back to 154/90, Yesterday 134/82. Apart from that my weight is within my BMI, cholesterol, sugar and triglyceride levels are good . I walk regularly when I can (will the rain ever stop?), and generally feel well.
Last summer I collapsed momentarily at the end of a 6 mile walk and rapidly got up again.. Dr questioned me and my wife closely. Diagnosed possible syncope and told me to drink a lot more water( 3 pints extra a day). Cardiologist very wary of increasing my Ramipril dose and has fitted an ILR to try and find out what is going on. Interesting times.
Yes, it is funny old world. All you can do I get your ducks in a row and try and keep them there. When I get my weight down to where it should be a tiny little devil who lurks in the back of my brain says " You can have a cake now, go on , just a little cake..."
