I suffered an eye stroke 7 months ago caused by hypertension. My BP was very high. I have been for an echocardiogram and have received a letter stating I have ‘significant valvular abnormalities. I was fitted with 24 hr monitor and the report shows ‘predominantly sinus rhythm isolated ventricular & atrial ectopics. What does this all mean?

Isolated ventricular & Atrial ectopics
Hello and welcome to the forum! I hope the eye stroke was not vision affecting. A colleague who suffered one was left with a small blind spot.
Bear on mind I am not medically qualified when reading my replies. You have issues with your heart valves but it is unclear what they are. I would suggest you ask your GP for clarification - what valves and what the specific issue is? A friend's wife had one valve replaced and two repaired three years ago at the age of seventy, and is doing rely well!
The other comment suggests to me a normal ECG but occasional ectopics originating from the upper (atrial) and lower (ventricular) chambers of the heart. Sometimes ectopics can be reduced /eliminated by eliminating alcohol, caffeine, chocolate and spicy food from the diet.
Hope this is of help to you.
