Finally, hope.

Today I saw my consultant for the first time since my HA on 15-12-19.

He listened to my concerns and agreed that my SOB could be caused in part by ticagrelor and that I have a Ramipril cough, and changed both these meds. (to copidogrel and Losartan) I wouldn’t have been so assertive and sure of myself when talking to him if it hadn’t been for the help and advice I’d got from this forum. So, thank you all.

I’ve been so low and now I finally have hope that my life can return to nearly what it was before.

Today is a good day. And I’m celebrating (maybe prematurely, but what the heck?) with a bottle of fizz before I jump back on the wagon tomorrow.

That’s the beauty of this forum and others I’ve been on. You get info from people who’ve been there themselves and it’s good to know you’re not alone. When they first started me on my drug cocktail I had other side effects but as my body got used to the drugs they went away, apart from the cough and the SOB, which got progressively worse.

Hi Flitchick

Well done on getting your medicines sorted out in two months. When I started out on mine my hands and feet were freezing. Bit of research and it pointed to the beta blocker I was on. Went to doctor and initially got fobbed off, but after six months finally got it changed, so two months is good.

Enjoy the fizz, every victory requires a prize

My hands and feet have been extra cold I'm was almost starting to worry. Is it all beta blockers or just one type?

Hi Vckyvix

After my heart attack in December 2018 I noticed that I was getting colder and colder, hands, feet and finally a dripping nose - heating on 24 hours a day. I .looked at all the instructions that come with the meds and when I got to Bisoprolol it mentioned cold hands/feet. Did some research and while all beta blockers can have this effect the answer is to try and get moved to a different one to see if it makes a difference. Carfedolil seemed to have this effect less often. Bisoprolol is an older drug than Carfedolil and perhaps there is a change to the composition which makes some sort of difference. Anyway, it has certainly worked for me, if it's a very cold or windy day then I still feel the cold to a degree , but generally i'm now fine on this beta blocker.

Hope this helps.
