Confused after angiogram

After having an echocardiogram I was told that a heart valve was allowing some blood to flow back, severe stenosis, an angiogram was done to see if there were any other problems which would be carried out at the same time as the heart valve. Nothing else was found when the angiogram was done but needed an operation. At an appointment before the angiogram I was told a report of the angiogram would go back to the cardiologist who requested it, and then forwarded onto a specialised hospital. Now 3 days after the angiogram I have received an outpatient appointment for 3 months time to see the cardiologist who carried out the angiogram. I don’t know if this is a computer generated appointment or what as my initial diagnosis says serious. I do know the specialised hospital has a very short waiting time for operations at the moment. I was initially in hospital early December and all investigations have taken place without waiting too long. So having to wait until May is confusing and stressful to say the least

Hi Bubbles34. Sometimes the cardiologist will both send on for treatment elsewhere and also put in a review appointment to see how you’re getting on with the onward referral. So it doesn’t necessarily mean that nothing will be done for another 3 months. Having said that I’d call the Cardiologist’s secretary tomorrow and check it out as a 3 month wait doesn’t chime with a ‘serious’ diagnosis. Good luck Bubbles.
