Hi Steve, another Steve here. I had a triple 2 and bit years ago. The amount of trauma your skeleton goes through during the op its not at all uncommon to have shoulder and back pain post op that may develop over time. In my case it was really bad pain in my right shoulder to the point where I couldn't put a jacket on. I had some heavy duty physio and that sorted it out.
It might be worth a trip to your GP first just get their opinion, and then find a good physio if that is what is required. Good luck
When I've had those pains the consultant told me it is angina. Suggest you get it checked..
Hi, I had a double bypass and had the terrible shoulder pains, it was the statins, I was on 80mg my GP changed them and the pain stopped.
See your GP, good luck.
I changed the Atorvastatin 80mg which was giving me terrible pain to Rosuvastatin 10mg it's a much lower dose but my GP assured me it's ok. The pain has gone completely. Be persistent.
Hi Tracie I will look into that and many thanks for your response back pains are getting a little better I’m still getting sternum pains
I had extreme pain and greatly reduced range of motion in my left shoulder following a quad bypass about a year ago. My forearm moved freely but my upper arm would only move a little bit. The surgeon said he hadn't seen that before and had no suggestions. My GP said it was a "frozen shoulder," technically called adhesive capsulitis. It was very painful if I tried to move in certain ways such as threading my belt through loops on my trousers. The GP prescribed physical therapy 2x a week lasting two months. That helped considerably though my range of motion is still just a little limited. Information I found on the Internet says frozen shoulder is most frequent in diabetics (I'm Type 2) and when movement of the shoulder has been restricted for a period of time. Good luck with getting your stuff diagnosed and fixed.
