Perindopril

Hi, I’ve been put on 2mg of perindopril a day, and have been taking it for 6 days now. I’ve been taking bp readings at home and the last couple of days it had gone down to 130/84 but today has gone up again. Any idea how long it takes to work properly? I have operation coming up which maybe postponed if it doesn’t come down consistently - probably making me anxious which isn’t helping!! A vicious circle :(

Thanks for any advice!

Hi Culrywurlyt

Here's a link the the HS webpage on the subject:-

nhs.uk/medicines/perindopril/

Have a look at 9. Common Questions, which states that it may take up to a month before it achieve its full effect.
