lisinopril and amlodipine

Hi everyone prior to Xmas I have various nosebleeds and found out I had very high blood pressure 200/109 was stated on 5mg lisinopril then increased to 10mg my BP dropped two weeks to 140/80 but after 2 weeks I was checked again and it had risen to 172/108 so have been given me 5mg of amoldipine to take as well - has anyone noticed it went high then nearly normal and then back up again ? Thanks

Hi weir yes it happens all the time my are under control now it will settle down when your tablets kick in

I hope they didn't go off justone reading in eth surgery. My BP always goes sky high when I get to teh surgery yet at home is perfectly fine. It's a known condition called white coat hypertension ie you worry about a high reading so it goes up. If you have a home monitor keep a check on it maybe twice a day at different times.

Thanks I think as it was originally that high they have been monitoring and tweaking meds - I have one at home so will try my reading here as well.
