Hi everyone, Happy New Year. Thought l would write a positive post on this day. the 3rd anniversary of my first AVR. Although l had to endure a redo 5 weeks later it was a success and despite my Hero Consultant dragging me back from the pearly gates twice as he put it l have come so far and it sounds vain but l am quite proud of myself. l went to a wedding last Saturday and danced a lot. My post is to encourage anyone who is struggling with recovery, especially post cardiac depression which is so all consuming, l know its terrible, please be patient things definitely do get better my virtual friends !!! Without this site l don't know how l would have moved on, thank you all for your wonderful support, advice, encouragement, and sharing your thoughts and experiences so truthfully. Don't read anything written by Doctor Google, its always depressing, very outdated, speak to the BHF nurses. No one expected me to survive but l'm dancing again and you can too, even if its just around the house. Finally l want to thank all the amazing NHS staff at Bristol Royal lnfirmary for saving my life, and a family. Love Sue xxx
Dancing again !!!: Hi everyone, Happy... - British Heart Fou...
Dancing again !!!
Lovely to hear such good news......keep bopping!
Have a great year, Sue! Glad to hear you've been dancing Lots of love x
Well done. It certainly doesn't sound vain to say that you are proud of yourself. All of us on here have faced issues that I wouldn't wish on anyone, we have an option to either give up or fight back and say this is not going to beat us.
One thing I've learnt from the posts on this forum, is that even in a really desperate situation there are people still fighting, still refusing to be beaten. So no, vanity doesn't come into it, you and everyone else on this forum have very right to feel proud of our achievements.
Happy New Year - and keep dancing!
Thank you so much for sharing with us your wonderful positive story.
Keep on dancing and Happy New Year!
Thanks honey, l am going to put "l'm in the mood for dancing" by the Nolans on a loop, especially as l have started Dry January, so l may be as mean as a snake, but hopefully not. Sue x
