I was reading about this small device which is implanted in the Heart to monitor how it's performing and looking to see if anyone has had one fitted, or knows of anyone who has had one ??
I have read the criteria for inclusion on the trial and I personally fit the profile my PR interval is 160ms and QRS duration is 136ms which are within the parameters along with my EF which tends to be around the low forty range. The trial is carried out by Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. and from what I can tell Birmingham and Hammersmith are two Hospitals that carry out the procedure.
Looks like an interesting development which I hope to discuss with Heart Failure Nurses on the 9th Jan 2020

My mum has one of these fitted after being diagnosed with heart disease in August this year she's currently waiting for a stent to be fitted. It's no bigger than a SIM card and is just inserted under the skin about the heart. Up to know all had been ok for her and no problems. Just a waiting game for her now to have her stent fitted.
Yes it was Sheffield northern general. It monitors her heart at all times and if they think there is anything tow orry about they ring her I think the waiting is the worrying part for her they are going in both wrists so she's worries because she has only ever heard of them going in one wrist.
Tell your Mum not to worry it could be worse !! I had one working through my Right Groin and another working through my Right Wrist at the same time, Thanks for the information.
Yes I read an article on this - very neat solution. Sadly the article I read went on to say:- "The condition carries a worse mortality rate than most cancers: one in three die within a year of diagnosis", thereby perpetuating the idea that anyone with heart failure is going to keel over any second now!!!☹😒
