Should I tell Doctor?

Was diagnosed with AF a year ago and put on bisoprolol.

Have been reading others posts about AF and, with having no symptoms for a year, not really bothered.

Guess what reared it’s ugly head last night! Started feeling wrong and heart going faster than strictly come dancing. Dust the mothballs off the kardia and there it was AF! OMG shock, horror fear and a quick nip to the loo!

Had a bad night but think a lot of this was due to fear and anxiety.

Do I make a docs appointment and let them know it’s happened again or just carry on as before?

Personally I would go - because that is how they can record the event and get a better idea of what tyour true state of health is.

They can't manage what they don't know...

Yes, you’re right. Was thinking the same thing myself.

Thank you for your quick reply.

Definitely go and see the doctor - SuffolkLad has given wise advice. If your GP is to manage your condition he has to know what is happening and give advice. Probably just a blip but there's no point in spending time worrying and getting more anxious. Best wishes. Let us know how you get on.

Thank you for your kind reply. Am going to ring docs at 8.30 to see about an appointment. I know it’s fear that makes this condition worse and I’m quite anxious at the moment.

You are so right - I can send my heart rate soaring by getting uptight about anything. My younger brother (who always treats me with great disdain as you do a sibling) once said to me "only people with both intelligence and imagination feel fear - I suppose you are brighter than I thought". I've never let him forget it and the laugh brought my heart rate down.....

Oh well, I must be really intelligent because my imagination is working overtime as is the loo!😂

Hi. Went to the doctors and got sent to the hospital for an ecg. It’s a good job I went. Medication increased, a new cardiology appointment and a doctors appointment for 2 weeks time to check heart rate and blood pressure.

Thanks to everyone for sound advice.

I would definitely get it checked out at your docs. my surgery has a cardio monitor available without having to be referred back to hospital and it would set your mind at rest.
