Cerebral angiogram

Having had an aortic valve replacement in January 2018. My bloods have been showing low potassium and high sodium.

My GP decided to stop Indapamde.

At that point my BP went extremely high resulting in a dramatic collapse in the street and bilateral sub arachnoid haemmorage.

BP 248/118. Three CT scans one MRI scan and a cerebral angiogram. Confirmed diagnosis.

My BP remains high despite Ramipril twice daily and Amlopodine and Bisoprol daily.

I continue to have persistent headaches and a BP which remains around 180/95.

The Gp tells me it is not a problem at that level. I have not managed to see him, just three phone calls since I came out of hospital two weeks ago

Just advice would be appreciated.

If my blood pressure was at that level I would be very concerned indeed

The BHF guidelines are 140/90 or below

Besides the risk of a cardiac event high blood pressure can damage your kidneys.

You could ring the BHF nurses to confirm this but you need to see your GP sooner than later.

It is virtually impossible to see my GP. He rang me last week after my bleed and increased my medication but it has made no difference. He told me to check BP twice a day and he is ringing me next Thursday for the readings.

I don't drink or smoke. Am not overweight and walk 3 to 4 miles a day.

I would ring the BHF nurses in the morning because you might get useful feedback for the conversation with your GP on Thursday. As said I think your BP is too high!
