This has been discussed a couple of times. The advice was to contact your GP practice or pharmacist and if perscribed the consensus suggested to continue but to seek advice at the earliest opportunity. If brought over the counter the advice was to buy alternative medication.

Thanks MichaelJH I have just rung the pharmacist there isn’t a problem with ranitidine, there has been a shortage but they have supplies now, thank you for your help.

I thought you were asking about contaminated batches being withdrawn. This would have caused a shortage. It got very confused as generic versions are manufactured on most continents and shipped worldwide. Your pharmacist would be aware of this.

My wife was admitted to hospital on Monday with very high blood pressure and shortness of breath. Their first comment was that it could be contaminated Ranitidine and immediately stopped it and put her on Omeprozole. BP is coming down but still not resolved.

Oh dear hope she gets better soon.

Slightly puzzling comment by the hospital as the reason for the withdrawal was an elevated level of a carcinogen! The problem with generics is that although the active ingredients are the same other constituents may not be. One generic gave me palpitations! Hope your wife's issues are resolved quickly.
