Hi, wrote earlier last week totally fed up with being very breathless, and having ectopic heart beats that were driving me scatty and feeling very sorry for myself. GP requested I stop my beta blocker, Nebivolol,so I stopped it last Monday, hey presto, today, no ectopic beats for 36 hours and breathlessness improved , still breathless but I know this is due to Ticagrelor, however, I have now gone back onto bisoprolol, the reason I came off bisoprolol was, within half an hour of taking it i became very tired and felt totally wipedout! but I need to take it Doctors orders. I feel finally I have been listened to and hopefully continue to feel better. Many Thanks to everyone who replied for your advice and concern.
Nebivolol. : Hi, wrote earlier last... - British Heart Fou...
Nebivolol.
That’s good! I do remember feeling ghastly immediately when I started bisoprolol , but that subsided over a couple of weeks.
I sympathise. First, And, just checking. What dose is the bisoprolol? I ask because you cannot suddenly stop betablockers. You have to be weaned off them, over days, and sometimes weeks, with possible exceptions for the lowest doses.
People respond differently to betablockers, and with this class of drug we have the advantage there are several available so you can often find one that works for you. But I am interested that you said the ectopics went down when you stopped the betablocker. I the past, that has been my experience.
Hi, I was on 2-5mgs of nebivolol which I had been on for a month, forgot to mention it also gave me very vivid dreams where I was screaming, and trying to get out the bedroom to escape, but ended up in one of the wardrobes, husband thought I had lost the plot! I switched from bisoprolol 2-5mgs as I was couldn't cope with the tiredness and fatigue I felt. Today I started back on bisoprolol and knew within half an hour of taking it the same tiredness came back! Although my cardiologist suggested another beta blocker, my GP wants me to stay with bisoprolol as he stated this was the best drug for my heart. So, we will wait to see what happens. Been ok today, just tired as we have had our 2 year old grandson from 7am till 5-30 as we do every week! Takes us three days to recover!
