Water tablets, like Furosemide, are not known for causing problems urinating. For men it can be the indication of a potential prostate problem and for both sexes a UTI. Ring the GP or 111, as if a total block develops it is a medical emergency!

Sadly you're of an age where ladies plumbing can play up! A hot bath or shower often helps in the short term. Years ago having worked with paraplegics I "paired" light tickling strokes to sacral area with peeing and now this works for me as it by passes the brain and is a reflex type action.

I would discuss this with your GP as it could be one of your tablets or even the start of a prolapse ( sorry) . Whatever the reason it needs looking at. Sadly the more concerned you are, the more likely it is you will have problems as even for us ladies the act of passing water uses a large number of nerves and muscles. Of course it's even more complex for the poor guys!!

I have lots of bladder problems, like you can't get started without running a tap or finishing then finding there's a couple of tea spoons worth left. I'm having investigations right now but it's not my diuretic causing it; in fact the only time I can go easily is after I've taken it. Sometimes the urethra can get narrowed if you've previously had infections. Get it investigated

I agree with BlueZircon’s to see a GP ASAP. It’s v important with Heart Failure you do not carry too much fluid in your body. Been there, got the tee shirt! I’m on Spirolactone but was taking Furosemide as well for first 3 months.

Not what you're looking for?
