If you have symptoms that could affect your driving you need to declare it.

The DVLA forms have changed fairly recently. My OH and I both have AF and reported it though no symptoms that would affect driving, as you had to a few years ago. If in doubt ring DVLA they open quite early I think like the tax office!!! We were advised to inform insurers too but they didn't have a tick box as DVLA said all ok!!

I have chronic AF and have had 3 ablations. There has never been any mention of not being able to drive but I am fairly symptom free as beta blockers and other heart meds keep the AF pretty stable and controlled. The medics should tell you if there is a risk.

Thanks for the advice, will ask cardiologist later this week...although I think it is up to the patient to report any changes to the DVLA not the medics.

3 ablations oh no! hope I'm not headed down that road!!
